of Science (EECS) from University of California, Berkeley.
He has also done PGDM from IIM, Bangalore where he was
awarded the Gold Medal for his academic excellence.

General of MIET is known for installing academic
excellence and motivating students to do exceedingly well
for the fiercely competitive world. He was first
selected in IIT, Kharagpur on merit in 1957 and then switched
over to University of Roorkee from where he graduated
in 1960.

Dr. Mayank Garg, Director
of the Institute has done his graduation in Mechanical
Engineering from Nagpur University, Nagpur and did his
M.E. and Ph. D. from IIT Roorkee, Roorkee formerly University
of Roorkee. He received University Medal in M.E. degree
program for standing first class with distinction. He
was direct awardee of Senior Research Fellowship and
Research Associateship of CSIR, Human Resource Development
Group, New Delhi. He has various publications in acknowledged
national and international journals. He has presented
many research papers in National Seminars. After eleven
years of research experience he has been Assistant Professor,
Professor and Head in Department of Mechanical Engineering
in some of the premier institutes. He was also engaged
in designing and developing lab equipments, UG Laboratories
and Workshops. He has taken over as Director of MIET
in July, 2012r and strongly dedicated to promote the
aim of Institute to achieve academic excellence. He
is committed to his students to provide them quality
technical education, academic discipline, streamlined
infrastructure, and congenial environment for studies.

Dr. Ram Chakka is the Director - Research & Development, at MIET-Meerut. He received B.E. (Electrical and Electronics, 1980), M.S. (Engineering) (Computer Science and Automation, 1986, by research and course work), both from I.I.Sc., Bangalore. He received Ph.D. (Computer Science, 1995) from the Newcastle University, England, while working there as a Research Associate (Lecturer grade) in some prestigious European projects. Earlier, Dr. Chakka worked at I.I.Sc., Newcastle University, Imperial College London, Middlesex University (London), Norfolk State University (USA), Sri Sathya Sai University, and RGMCET. Dr. Chakka has published over 60 papers in SCI and ISI-listed journals, peer-refereed Research Volumes and prestigious International Conferences. Some of his contributions to Markov processes and Generalized Markovian Queuing Models for the emerging telecommunication systems and high speed networks are seminal and regarded highly. He was awarded the Certificate of Excellence for Outstanding Scholarship by the School of Science and Technology at Norfolk State University. Dr. Ram Chakka was listed in the 2009 edition of Marqui's Who'sWho in the World. A recent award received is the Prof. B.M. Mithal Memorial award for best paper in Education, awarded by the Indian Journal of Pharmaceutical Education and Research (IJPER) in 2011.
