Electronics & Communication Engineering :
Electronic engineering as a profession sprang from technological improvements in the telegraph industry in the late 1800s and the radio and the telephone industries in the early 1900s. Since then, there had been enormous, unbelievable, unforeseen technological changes, thanks goes to the Electronics Engineering! It appears that the major development in the Electronics Engineering took places after world war-II by the introduction of Semiconductor Transistors and subsequently circuits miniaturization using VLSI technology. This development had revolutionized Electronics/Communication Engineering tremendously. Among other changes, this has made a paradigm shift from uncomfortable and restricted wired communication access to comfortable and unlimited wireless communication a reality today! So, in almost every industry, be it small scale or large scale, Electronics and Communication Engineering has its role to play which makes this branch of engineering probably most sought after!
Courses Offered:
Since its inception in the year 2001, the Electronics and Communication Engineering department (ECED) at Meerut Institute of Engineering and Technology (MIET), Meerut has taken a great leap in providing quality education to the students. At present, following two courses are being offered by the department:
- B.Tech (Electronics and Communication Engineering): Started in the year 2001, B.Tech in Electronics and Communication Engineering, is accreditated by the ‘National Board of Accreditation’ (NBA), affiliated to Mahamaya Technical University (MTU), Noida / Gautam Budha Technical University (GBTU), Lucknow and approved by AICTE, New Delhi.
- M.Tech (Digital Communication): Started in the year 2011, M.Tech in Digital Communication which is approved by AICTE, New Delhi and affiliated to Mahamaya Technical University (MTU), Noida.
Head of the Department:
He specializes in VLSI design and pursuing his research in this field. His vast knowledge of the subject alloyed with his experience in the industry (PSUs) makes him an ideal teacher. He has great passion for teaching and totally committed to his students. He is member of several professional bodies.

Placement:
The students of ECE department have good academic record. Every year, many students secure placements in reputed companies, institutes and research organizations of public and private utilities. TCS, Wipro, Infosys U.S. Technologies, Accenture etc. are among few reputed private sector companies which hired our students. Many students got placed in public sector units like BEL, BARC, BSNL, in BANKING SECTORS etc. In addition, many students are perusing higher studies from India and abroad. For placement record see: Click Here
Facilities:
ECED has well established & well equipped Laboratories to cater the needs of curriculum along with research facility. The department has specialized tools like Tanner, Xilinx, MATLAB, P-Spice etc. that are widely used in reputed institutes & industries all around the world.
