He has taught Biochemical Engineering and Biophysics to B.E., M.E. and M.Sc. level students at BITS, Pilani. He was also faculty at the department of Botany at Oklahoma State University, Stillwater, Oklahoma and department of Biological Sciences at Purdue University, West Lafayette, Indiana apart from teaching.

He carried out advanced research in the area of Ion channels electrophysiology. He is Fellow of Institute of Nanotechnology, Stirling, Scotland. He also holds the position of Nanion Technologies adjunct Research Professor at Research Triangle Institute, NC and Adjunct Professor for Biosensor Academy at MV State University, Moscow. He had received various awards including JCI Outstanding Ten Young Person of India and ISBEM Dr. Ramesh Gulrajani Memorial Award 2006 for outstanding research in electrophysiology.

He is an acknowledged authority of his subject and beside being a good researcher is also a very good teacher.
