He has been founder Director of two other Institutes before taking over as Director General of MIET.  He is known for installing academic excellence and motivating students to do exceedingly well for the fiercely competitive world.  He was first selected in IIT, Kharagpur on merit in 1957 and then switched over to University of Roorkee from where he graduated in 1960.  He did his Post Graduation in M.E. (Process Design) in first class with distinction from Kanpur where he stood first and also obtained record percentage.

He has been the leader of several delegations to countries like USA, France, Holland, Spain, England and was also consultant to Federal Government of Nigeria.  Last assignment held by him was Director General Quality Assurance, Ministry of Defense Production where he was responsible for Quality of a vast complex of ordinance factories, practically all the public sector undertakings and all large industrial houses of the country.

He has interacted with top scientists of the country and has wide contacts in India and abroad.  He personally monitors the activity of placement cell of MIET. He is a strict disciplinarian.
