Department of Pharmaceutical Technology has been setup with the sole aim to be “Center of Excellence” by providing quality education & skills to young professionals and contributing to the field of pharmacy education. The curriculum of pharmacy makes an enriching learning experience as it perfectly combines technology and health care system. The profession of pharmacy has transformed into the hub for the “Global Health Care” and has evolved as multidisciplinary, multifaceted curriculum. Its involvement is deep and plays an important role in all events from discovery of new drug molecule to its evaluation, development, approval for human consumption, manufacture and every other important aspect.
Since its inception M.I.E.T has made conscious efforts to inculcate research aptitude in its students at all levels to keep them abreast of the requirements of the industry. The efforts are visible in the sizable number of publications. The last five years has witnessed around 300 papers and 2 patents by faculty and students at both national and international level the department has generated.    

Department of Pharmaceutical Technology is one of the few among Pharmacy Colleges of UPTU which is PCI approved and has state of the art laboratories. The equipments and instruments held in the labs are the best and has FTIR, HPLC, Rheometer, Picodrop, UV Spectrophotometer, Freeze dryer (Lyophilizer), digital plethysmometer, Lagendrof, 16 station rotary Tablet Machine and Students Physiograph to carry out research. The faculty members are highly dedicated and are chosen from different premier institutes of India. This is the only department where students have published papers even at under graduate level while at post graduate level the number exceeds more than 300. It is one of the prestigious departments of UPTU and accredited by NBA.

 

Prof. (Dr.) S. K. Gupta, has 30 years of experience out of which 10 years both in production and research & development of Pharmaceutical Formulations. He has also more than 20 years of teaching and research experience at graduate, post graduate and doctorate level. He has been an active member of AC/BOS, RDC & Selection committee etc. of various universities. He has 30 publications both in national and international journals. He has served as Director/Principal cum Professor of various reputed institutes. He has many life time achievement awards in development and improvement of Pharmaceutical Formulations all over the world.

Vipin Kumar Garg received his B.Pharm. from CCS University, Meerut in 1999 and M. Pharm. (Pharmacology) from RGUHS, Bangalore in 2002. He is currently working as Asst. Professor & Head in the Department of Pharmaceutical Technology, Meerut Institute of Engineering & Technology (MIET), Meerut, U.P. He has over 10 years of experience in teaching undergraduate as well as postgraduate students of Pharmacy. His areas of Interest include Human Anatomy & Physiology and Pharmacology. He has published 33 research papers in International and 20 papers in National journals. He has also presented papers in various seminars and conferences. He was the co-convener of the AICTE sponsored national seminar organized the Department of Pharmaceutical Technology. He is the life member of Association of Pharmaceutical Teachers of India (APTI) and Indian Pharmacological Society (IPS). He is constantly involved in research and has guided 04 and co-guided 11 M. Pharm. Students.
