Meerut Institute of Engineering & Technology (MIET) is affiliated to the MahaMaya Technical University (MTU), Noida (Formerely Uttar Pradesh Technical University (UPTU), Lucknow) . The Institute follows the syllabus and course structure constituted by MTU. The University shall conduct all end of term examinations and also award degrees to successful candidates.

Mahamaya Technical University , Noida has been constituted by an Act of UP Legislature in Feb. 2010 and notified in The Gazette of UP Govt. On 16th Feb. 2010 created by bifurcation of Uttar Pradesh Technical University, Lucknow into Gautam Budh Technical University, Lucknow and Mahamaya Technical University, Noida. The university is mainly affiliating in nature and its geographical jurisdiction is the western part of UP , namely , comprising of Saharanpur ,Meerut, Mooradabad, Agra, and Aligarh divisons. The university has about 385 colleges and institutions affiliated to it offering courses in Engineering, Technology, Management, Pharmacy, and other professional programs. The university has come into being very recently, the onus of nurturing some of the oldest and best private colleges of the state by formulating a structure for excellence is very daunting. The mandate implies to provide the best in Technical education for all its students and to create an operational structure which can deliver quality education with most updated curricula and pedagogy. The strength of the university lies in the area where it is situated and the National & International connectivity that it can use for developing a truly global character with highly rewarding industrial partnership.
